Major Image

Major Image
3rd-level illusion

Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 120 feet
Components: V, S, M (a bit of fleece)
Duration: concentration, up to 10 minutes

You create the image of an object, creature, or phenomenon that is visible and does not exceed a cube of 20 feet on each side. The image appears at a location you can see within range and lasts for the duration of the spell. It looks completely real, including appropriate sounds, smells, and temperatures for the depicted object. You cannot create heat or cold intense enough to deal damage, a sound loud enough to deal thunder damage or deafen a creature, or a smell that could sicken a creature.

As long as you are within range of the illusion, you can use your action to move the image to a different location within the spell's range. When the image changes location, you can alter its appearance so that the movement of the image appears natural. You can even simulate a conversation.

A physical interaction with the image reveals it to be an illusion since one can pass through it. A creature that uses its action to examine the image can determine that it is an illusion by succeeding on an Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. If a creature discerns the illusion for what it is, it can see through it.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the spell lasts until it is dispelled, without requiring concentration.
