Shield Sketch

Shield Sketch
1st Level - Abjuration

Casting Time: 1 reaction, which you take when a creature within range is targeted by an attack
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S, M (a brush or drawing tool)
Duration: Instantaneous

You frantically sketch a spectral shield in the air to protect a target or yourself. The target gains a +2 bonus to its AC against that attack. If this bonus causes the attack to miss, the protective sketch shatters in an explosion of magical force, dealing 1d4 force damage to the attacker.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the force damage increases by 1d4 for each slot level above 1st.
